Gus & Guidos Franchise Factoid

There are almost as many reasons and ways to get into business these days as there are businesses to get into. Franchising is currently the most popular and Gus & Guido’s is on the verge of taking over the world!

If you are interested in improving your Net Worth through your own initiatives and underutilized talent, we have something for you to consider. Starting your own business, particularly the first time, stirs up a number of emotions from excitement through to fear. It’s the universal fear of failure because of the unknown that most have difficulty with. Franchising somewhat eliminates most of the unknown and can reduce the risk involved.

At Gus & Guido’s, we understand that the success of our restaurants depends on delivering 100% customer satisfaction through dedicated and intelligent people. That can only be accomplished by having “committed” management and staff at every location. The highest level of commitment usually comes from those with a vested interest in the business, the franchisees.
As the franchisor, we provide the best tools to do the job. From choosing the right franchisee and restaurant site, to providing on-going operations, marketing, product development and financial guidance, we are committed to making your Gus & Guido’s the very best restaurant in your area.
It’s the combination of good old-fashioned restaurant industry savvy and up-to-date management skills and knowledge provided by our Head Office team that keeps Gus & Guido’s successful.
For any franchise system to survive and prosper, there must be unity; the success of each is dependent on the efforts of all.

As a growing concept, we are on the lookout for qualified individuals to join our family as franchisees.
Not everyone is suited to the franchise environment or, for that matter, the restaurant industry. To help make that determination, we have developed a unique and comprehensive selection process. It allows each of us to learn about the other before proceeding. Through this procedure, each applicant fully experiences and learns to understand the operations of a restaurant franchise, and we discover if the applicant possesses the skills and personal attributes to experience success.

If you think you have what it takes to become a Gus & Guido’s franchisee, please download a PDF version of our Franchise Information Package. This package contains information about our Franchisee Selection Procedure, Basic Financial Investment Information, a Request for Information and Consideration Form and a Personal Net Worth. If after reviewing the information package, you are interested in proceeding, please complete the forms and return to Terry Gibson via fax: 416-792-5858 or email to terrygibson@rogers.com

Training will be conducted for up to two persons, one of whom must be the franchise owner. The training program will be conducted over an eight week period in the Brantford location. An additional four weeks of training will take place at the franchisee's restaurant at the time of opening. The franchisee and management employees may be required to attend additional training and meetings. The franchisor will provide a representative for up to fourteen days following the first week of opening a restaurant to assist in the setup and initial operation.

The franchisee will receive a protected area around the franchise location. The protected area will be the area within a 20 kilometre radius of the franchise location, except in densely populated areas where the protected area may be smaller. In those cases the territory will be agreed to by the parties. During the term of the franchise agreement, the franchisor will not operate or authorize others to operate a retail restaurant business using the Gus & Guido’s trademarks or system at a location within the protected area.

The term of the franchise agreement is 10 years and can be renewed for two 5-year periods thereafter.

The franchisee must, among other things defined more specifically in the franchise agreement:

1) Devote their full time and attention to the active management and operation of the franchise business.
2) Preserve and exercise ultimate authority and responsibility with respect to the management and operation of the franchise business.
3) Represent and act on behalf of franchisee in all dealings with the franchisor.
4) The franchisee must sell all products and services specified by the franchisor. The franchisee may not offer any products or services that have not been authorized.
5) The franchisee may deliver immediately consumable products consistent with the catering format (G&G Corp.) but any other provision or delivery of products is prohibited without prior written consent from the franchisor.
